The purpose of the pneumatic feeder is to continuously feed fuel in the form of wooden pellets diam. 4 – 10 mm from an external central container (pos. 1) into the incinerator container (8). The pellet quantity in the small container is controlled by a propeller level marker (6). If the propeller (hereinafter referred to as the sensor) is free (i.e. not covered with the fuel – the pellet level is lower than H1), it rotates freely and the sensor’s microswitch is in the “on” position; if the propeller is covered with pellets their resistance prevents it from rotating and the sensor’s microswitch turns the power off – i.e. the “off” position. The sensor is connected to the exhaust regulator (5) and the suction fan (2). The fan operation is initiated by means of suction (3) and exhaust (4) hoses (industrial hoses with steel spiral reinforcement) feeding the pellets through a vacuum rotator (7) into the small container. The suction process runs in cycles where a single cycle consists of the following:

  • After the fan is put into operation, the rotator starts sucking air out through the exhaust hose (4) – the gravity flap at the bottom of the rotator is closed due to underpressure – which causes the suction hose (3) to suck the pellets from the central container into the rotator, the rotator fills up after some time, turning the fan off – the underpressure stops and the pellets’ weight in the rotator opens the bottom flap emptying the rotator into the container – the first rotator is finished and the next one can be put into operation.
  • Single cycle length (individual steps) and number of cycles during a single feeding process are controlled by the regulator where the values can be adjusted, matching the fuel type.
